Seonyudo Park, which opened in 2002 on Seonyudo situated on the Hangang River, is the first repurposed ecological park in Korea. It was created by repurposing the structures of the water treatment facility in Yanghwa-dong to create a park where visitors can enjoy a natural ecological experience in the urban ecological forest filled with various aquatic plants. Seonyudo Park is easily accessible because it is connected to Yanghwa Hangang Park via Seonyugyo Bridge. Albeit small, Seonyudo Park offers a relaxing atmosphere perfect for quiet picnics with family and friends as well as photogenic spots frequented by citizens to visit and take photos and videos. Seonyudo Park is a must-visit nighttime scenic spot with trees that transform the park into a mysterious nocturnal grove, and offers a spectacular view of the National Assembly and Yeouido’s cityscape from the Seonyugyo Bridge.
