Friendly Relations with Major Strategic Regions


Seoul Metropolitan Government is striving to establish close networks with representatives of major European cities and exchange with them in exchanged on advanced administration policies through mutual visits and attendance at international events. Furthermore, Seoul is promoting win-win joint development with leading cities by strengthening friendly relations in fields such as economy and culture.

  • Mayor of Heidelberg (Germany) makes a goodwill visit to Seoul (’12.11)
  • Seoul makes visits to Paris, Bologna, and Barcelona for the purpose ofbuilding a Seoul-style social economy model (’12.11)
  • British ministers of culture/media/sports, culture, communication, and creative industry make a goodwill visit to Seoul (‘13. 3)
  • French ministers of small business, innovation, and digital economy make a goodwill visit to Seoul (‘13. 3)
  • Chairman of the German Senate makes a goodwill visit and attends meetings (’13. 5)
  • Mayor of Lyon (France) makes a goodwill visit (‘13. 7)
  • Mayor of Amsterdam visits Seoul and signs an MOU for strengthening friendship (‘13. 9)
  • Mayor of Bologna (Italy) visits and signs cooperation agreements, including one on the social economy (’13.11)
